Postmemory
“Postmemory” is a work of creation and repair, uncovering the layers of forgetting beneath the surface to see what is exposed.

When an event is recalled by multiple people, which version of remembering is more authentic?
When memories are displaced from a timeline, what becomes of them when they are no longer included in its truth?
How can they be reconciled with that accepted truth and what does unifying or separating them change?

I am interested in solidifying memories from my own past by weaving them into narratives. I am playing with the tension between burial and preservation; the desire to restore what has been broken, but also the fear of what has been unearthed and the impulse to bury it back under.
