Threads
2006
Box, beeswax, handmade paper, typewriter, tracing paper, dirt
"Threads" is like a treasure chest, containing bits of what is left over after a great loss. It addresses how, in the aftermath of a death, meaningless objects become links to the person who is gone and then eventually become that person entirely. Each small box contains these "threads" that tie back to a time before the person was lost. Each box corresponds to a page of text in the smaller book.
"Threads" was bound with waxed linen in a Japanese side-sewn or "stab" bind.
