Trees
2006
Wooden box, beeswax, burlap, tracing paper, graphite, dirt
1'x4'
"Trees" tells a story of childhood interactions with trees. The stories my relatives relayed to me are mixed in with the memories I have. The different versions of their stories and my memories are in contradiction and the story reads in a layered way which creates a confusing timeline and gives no indication of what really happened.

"Trees" was bound at the edge with waxed linen in a Japanese side-sewn or "stab" bind.
